Fortnite Battle Royale is Coming to Mobile Devices

4.3
Epic Games has a hit on their hands with Fortnite and they’re doubling down to make sure that they can get it into the hands of as many people as possible. Literally.

Epic revealed today that Fortnite Battle Royale will soon be coming to mobile devices. Yes, the same Battle Royale experience that you’ve had on consoles and PC will soon be coming to your phone and tablet. Details are still sparse at the moment but Epic says that it will still be the same 100-person fight to the death you’ve come to expect with the same island, same gameplay, and weekly updates.

Starting this Monday, iOS users will be able to sign up for the Invite Event of Fornite Battle Royale. Android users, on the other hand, will be left out in the cold and will have to wait a few months before seeing the game head their way.

Perhaps the craziest part of this entire announcement though is that Epic Games says that Fortnite Battle Royale players will be able to team up with one another across PC, Mac, iOS, and yes, even PS4. Sony has given Epic the green light to allow players on their console to team up with a friend who may only have the game on a mobile device. Pretty crazy.

If you’re looking to enter the iOS Invite Event, then make sure you sign up on the official Fortnite website this Monday, March 12 to be entered. You will need an iOS 11 on at least an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices in order to play on your device.

For further details, stay tuned until Monday as Epic promises to share more information at that time.

It will most likely be a nightmare to play with touch controls but I will download it once it comes out

Decy This is actually pretty cool i wonder how it will play tho and will it be cross-play?

Crossplay is highly unlikely. While possible, image all the people trying to plate on just their phone screen vs someone with a gaming rig set up for precision First Person Shooter Games(Image pro CS:GO players who can whip their mouse an inch and be able to shoot on target almost perfectly.)

This would be terrible for phone users, who would practically be stumbling around and struggling to make the good shots.
Of course, you can always buy Bluetooth controllers for Android/Iphone. They even have some that plug in directly to your charger port for less lag input. But those usually cost anywhere from cheap $10 to expensive $50.

I don't think Fortnite should be on the phones/tablets. Phones are better for casual games. But if people find a way to enjoy it, why would I complain? I would love for phones to be matched in playable games from Consoles/PCs.

Seems crazy that they'll be able to play with players on PC/PS4.

slickasitgets So like its a dope idea and all but I mean come on..... is it TRULY gonna be the same... the performance is gonna be a little iffy but we will see. Lets hope it's free, but it'll be on the store for 9.99 I feel like trololollol. #StickingToPc

I don't see why they'd charge for it all of the sudden. Main reason it's so popular is because it's free. Charging for mobile would be a huge risk since like you said, most people are gonna stick to pc or console.
