Monster Hunter World Shipped 7.5 Million Units Worldwide

Capcom just officially announced in a press release that shipments of the recently-launched action-RPG Monster Hunter World have passed another milestone, and it’s a big one.

To be more specific, the game is now over seven and a half million units shipped worldwide including both shipments to retailers and full-game digital downloads on the PlayStation Store and on Xbox Live.

This also means that the Monster Hunter World is now Capcom’s best-selling game ever, passing Resident Evil 5, that shopped 7.3 million units since its release in 2009.

Just a few weeks, we learned that Monster Hunter World passed 1.5 million units sold at retail in Japan in only two weeks, and it’s also the main Monster Hunter release with the highest debut attach rate in the country (despite the fact that it did not launch on a portable platform).

On top of that, it passed five million units shipped worldwide in only three days, and six million in a couple of weeks, but apparently, the count doesn’t appear to be about to stop just yet.

Never heard of it. But to outsell resident evil 5 which was one of my favourite games ever. Is not a bad feat to make. So congrats to them.

This is a crazy fun looking game and all of my housemates play it 24/7 on Xbox and PS4, waiting for the PC release and I'm more than likely to get it. The only things I don't really like are how dumb some of the enemy AI seem, but it seems like an awesome monster fighting game.

I've heard mixed things, I've heard it a great game but it gets repetitive very fast. Once it goes on sale, eventually, I'll probably pick it up then.

Really was expecting to see a shipped amount above 10 million but still a huge number. Game has been getting great reviews and a load of twitch streams across the site. For sure a well made game.
