Dragon's Dogma Xbox 360 Servers Are Shutting Down This Month

3.9
Both Dragon's Dogma and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen are phenomenal RPG experiences with enjoyable online components to the gameplay. For those players that have yet to make the jump into this generation of gaming, Capcom has some bad news for you.

After six years, Capcom is finally shutting down the Xbox 360 servers. Not unexpected, this often happens with older titles, but the game definitely has a cult following. In their official statement:

On March 31st, 2018 at 1:00am PST / 9:00am GMT / 5:00pm JST, the network services for the Xbox 360 versions will come to a close. After that time, Pawn rental from other players and the Ur-Dragon will be unavailable. Aside from these two features, the games will remain fully playable offline.

The network features for the following versions will remain fully functional:

Dragon’s Dogma (PS3)
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

To all Xbox 360 players, thank you for all the Pawns you’ve shared in the Rift and the damage dealt to the Ur-Dragon. Well done, Arisens.

So far it's just the 360 servers being affect, PS3 seems to still be off the table, which is good! With Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen having received the remastered treatment, it's an even better time to jump into the world of PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 gaming.

Xbox It's always sad to see the servers shut down on a old game. But the time has come to an end.

At least it's a good opportunity for the devs to free uo some resources for future projects.

Yes it is sad but I've seen games that are older and servers are still kicking but no one there. It's sad :(

Most games you need online play to get Achievements if you're that type of player so it sucks.

KyloCrux Surprise they last this long if I'm being honest.

Well it was only a matter of time, I too am surprised they have lasted this long. But it's about time they started fading out the old and focusing on the new.

You can't keep the servers up forever. They have probably had 0 players for multiple months in a row. But all is fine because the game was remastered for Xbox one.

JTHM This beginning of the end :(. It's going to suck to see the 360 servers shut down. This game was fun, gonna miss it.

What do you mean 360 servers? It's only for that specific game. Dw it's not all doom and gloom:) 360 service will be available for a long time. Especially now that we have backwards compatibility.

Mikey Have never heard of this game, and who really plays 360 anymore unless your modding Kappa!

You'd be very surprised, some ganes still have a competent playerbase. Take previously added new B/C games. They're capable of being revived with or without mods.

Tom Can't say ive actually played this game but heard many great things about it. Many games servers are going down on the older gen consoles due to less populated servers and developers no longer wanting to add to it. Sad to see.

True, I have a feeling it won't be long until Xbox 360 servers shut down. 2020 I'll guess. Apparently demon souls has also recently shut down.

This is what happens, I know a few games that have servers up still and no one will ever join lol.

Sad indeed.

It's sad, yes. But they're almost completely dead servers. Despite them being superb games, they're in the past. :(. Rip
