Xbox One X and Xbox One S Will Soon Get 1440p Resolution Support

4.8
We had been told previously that the Xbox One X would be getting support for 1440p resolution soon; now, it looks like not only the Xbox One X, but also the Xbox One S will be getting support for the upgraded resolution- and they will both be getting it shortly, too.

Microsoft’s Xbox Partner Group Program Manager, Kevin Gammill has confirmed that both consoles will be getting support for 1440p resolution- at least for members of the Preview Program. Presumably, it will be rolled out to everyone else shortly afterwards, too.

So, for those of you who use 1440p (or higher resolution than HD) screens, it looks like your Xbox One X and Xbox One S will soon be supporting output in the resolutions natively. As someone who has an Xbox One S, this actually comes as a pleasant surprise to me- I was certainly not expecting this, and it should make video content look sharper and better on my screen.

Yes, 1440p resolution will be supported and and option.

It will always support 1440p. This is why I need an Xbox One S.

Tom Didnt think Xbox One S would get supported by 1440p but glad to see it did.

This is a really good upgrade for these consoles. I also didnt think that S would get it but hey its whatever lol

Xbox One X can already top 1440p but still a great setting to have.

I did not know this. I also agree would be a good option to switch around sometimes for sure.

Xbox One Xs graphics tops the limit on what it can do. Just dont run the xbox one x on a shitty monitor, id have to slap you for even buying an X in the first place if you're not using it right.

I am also buying a monitor when I get this xbox. Prefer any?? I would not want to put that money into that kind of console and not be able to use it to its full potential.

Adam The console should have been 1440p on release anyway. They both struggle to push 4k 60 so 1440p would have been the next logical step down. Good that it's finally being implemented though.

There has always been talk about both consoles pushing to 1440p but for some reason they never did. Now we get a 4k resolution and they finally decide to push out the 1440p for no reason.

Now everyone is going to have to go get them a compatible TV and HDMI
