Battlefield 2018 – More Evidence Suggests It Will Be Set During WW2

There have been quite a few reports in recent weeks that the next Battlefield, which EA have confirmed will launch in October of 2018, will be set during the Second World War. And now there seems to be more possible evidence to suggest the same. This comes in form of an artist who has worked for DICE in the past, and some weapon design concept art they have drawn up.

One former DICE employee, Peter Olofsson Hermanrud, who now works for Bungie, posted a portfolio on ArtStation about a year ago, portraying several weapons that had nothing to do either with Battlefield 1, or its World War I setting. One such weapon was PPSh-41, which, apparently, was used quite commonly during the Second World War.

None of this is official confirmation that the next Battlefield will take place during WW2 era so take this report with a grain of salt. EA are going to reveal more proper details on Battlefield 2018 soon enough, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for continued coverage on the same.

Ninja Knew it! Every single time, cods done it already. I'd like to see something new, something different.


I'm all for more WWII games and since CoD got it completely wrong, BF will be amazing.




Dalm Why are they doing another world war game? its boring now, everyone is doing it. Yes, we love the old war games. But I want another game like battlefield 4. Disappointed tbh, I will still buy it and probably enjoy it but i feel like old war games are becoming too common


My point exactly, try something new and unique. Perhaps Vietnam? Would prefer it current war time though.


Current war games are too high tech and focus on killing from a distance. Which is great for real life, but in a game its incredibly boring and or infuriating. With games an intense feel will always win.

Cent I definitely won't be buying. I hated BF1 I want something like BF4 again, that game was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Hope this isn't a for sure thing.


Depending on the way they go with this game, I probably wont be buying it since I found the most fun in modern day era, for example bf3 - bf4.


Modern day games are the best. I have to agree with this, BF3 and BF4 are way better than BF1

Since they are based in the same era, Battlefield will probably make a better setting, storyline of it. They always are one step ahead of Activision with their games so im excited to see what they have in store.

I liked what they did with Battlefield 1, so if Battlefield 2018 is anything like it they will dominate the WWII genre. The idea of operations, but it a WWII flavor is exciting.
