Far Cry 5 Lands Five Minutes of 4K Footage, Showing Diverging Gameplay

4.3
Far Cry 5 is less than two months away, and everyone in the gaming community is gearing up to explore Hope Country, Montana. This includes publication IGN, who debuted a five-minute long video showcasing the variety of gameplay — especially when taking down an outpost.

Seen below as part of the IGN First series, the video showcases three different ways to approach clearing out an outpost: a sniper method, a more traditional sneaking approach, and a guns-blazing take down of every living thing. The video (available in 4K) starts at the same point — an enemy-occupied outpost. Anyone familiar with the series knows that you have to clear these, but that is where the paths diverge.

One notable point in all three runs is they use different companions: Grace the sniper specialist, Boomer the sneaky good boye, and Nick Ryan (professional bomber). Each one of them plays their own respective parts. Grace can take the spot on a tower, shooting down enemies and creating crossfire — going as far as killing every enemy without assistance in the video. Boomer can scout out targets, marking them on the map. And Nick Ryan can rain hell-fire from above via his bomber plane. Of course, you would know who all three of these characters are if you saw the resistance member trailers earlier this week.

Aside from this, Far Cry 5 has gotten a ton of other cool news this month — including that Far Cry 3: Classic Edition would come as a pack in on PS4 and Xbox One for those grabbing the Far Cry 5 season pass. This is a great incentive, because most of the game’s editions — including the 4,000 unit limited Mondo Edition — doesn’t come with the season pass packed in.

Far Cry 5 is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on March 27, 2018. You can check out the video below showing off the different gameplay options:

I haven't played Far Cry in ages mind you, love watching any kind of 4k footage. I'm happy for Far Cry 5.

I personally haven't liked Far Cry since FC3. However, the intense visuals and trailers look like that it might be something I'm interested in.

-Deano Got to be honest, looks just like any other Far Cry that we've had already with different scenery. Reminds me a lot of Ghost Recon Wildlands too. Basically the same mechanics.

I can agree with you on a few terms. The game does look the same with the mechanics and interface to the other far cry's and of course in this game it's set I. A different country, time era, and storyline. But I find the far cry games to be too good so I'll always be picking them up even if they're similar.

Dragon FarCry 5 is going to be amazing. The other games in the series were some of my favorites. Can't wait to delve into this story.

Agreed. The only other game I didnt like was far cry 1 and far cry primal i think that is what it was called.

KyloCrux Hell yeah! As of right now this is my number one game for this year.

I believe it will be. It looks very well put together might even be the best far cry yet!!
Glad they are bringing it to the US.

Lawzy "Copy and paste" just like the other games, but a new location and a different villain

I do not see it as that. Every new far cry they add new mechanics and alot of new features. This will feel different from the last one. I believe it was Primal.. This will feel so much different than primal. I promise you.

I must say, this does look impressive. Deano is right, it does look very much like wildlands. This seems a lot more relaxed mind you, or at least, the commentary over the top made it seem that way. It looks like a laugh tbh. Might have to invest.
