Fortnite passes PUBG with 3.4 million concurrent players

Fortnite hit a new peak of 3.4 million concurrent players on Sunday, February 4 and the load caused major service disruptions.

So many players logged into Fortnite over the February 3-4 weekend it crashed the servers.

Before the outages, the game hit a peak concurrent user record of 3.4 million players.

Epic Games posted an update on the Fortnite website to share technical details about the challenges of having to “rapidly scale” a game and its online services, which are far beyond its “wildest growth expectations.”

According to Epic, the extreme load of players caused six different incidents over the two-day period resulting in a mix of partial and total service disruptions.

I've never played this game, might have to see how I like it

I hate this game, only reason it passed pubg is because every broke kid on the internet wants to play free games. Only reason Lol is so popular.

Good to see so many people playing it and for a while now I've enjoyed it over PUBG.

Pretty insane honestly, I love this game I would definitely say it's the most fun I've had in awhile on any game.

It's no surprise, okay tthey're both great games, both have their ups and downs, flaws and good things about them, but I enjoy both games pretty much equally, but I play Fortnite the most, just more optimized.

It's just a lot better than PUBG

Fortnite is just a more enjoyable game in my opinion. Weekly game changing updates to keep things fresh, extremely good optimization, and building which raises the skill ceiling a lot higher.

I'm not surprised, free to play. And pubg on console is so bad, played last night couldn't stand the frame rate and broken mechanics.

Not surprised, a lot of people have been playing this game and seeing twitch streamers views on this game is crazy. Glad to see the game is doing so well.
