Fortnite gets Valentine’s Day crossbow with unlimited ammo - new patch

4
A Valentine’s Day crossbow will arrive in Fortnite following the latest patch on February 8.

Patch V2.4.2 brings with it the crossbow with unlimited arrows as well as a few other themed Valentine’s Day skins; cupid and a weird heartbroken bear. Because why not.

Changes are also being applied to the Shooting Test 1. It is now only available in solo play as it does not save progression for stats and challenges.

There’s good news for the more familiar weapons as both the shotgun and scoped assault rifle get some love. Shotgun headshot damage has been increased to 200% (up from 150%) and there’s no damage drop off when using the scoped assault rifle.

There’s no real changes for Save The Worlds players, but developer Epic did outline upcoming patches for the co-op game:

Fortnite Battle Royale patch notes

GENERAL

  • The Shooting Test #1 Limited-Time Mode has been switched to Solo only.
  • Known Issue: The Shooting Test does not save progression for stats or challenges.
  • Shotgun headshot damage increased to 200% (was 150%).
  • Scoped Assault Rifle is now 100% accurate when zoomed in.

Mikey Such a great update, and now with infinite ammo, was not to like.

I feel like infinite ammo would make it overpowered, is it? I wish I got it!

Infinite Ammo on a battle royale game.. Yes, i would think it is very overpowered lol.

If it is properly balanced, not necessarily. Just need to get headshots instead.

Dragon I've been playing with the crossbow. It is well balanced, I must say. Takes a fair amount of skill to use, as well. Silent, deadly, and a pretty fun thing to use in the game. You guys should definitely try this out.

Is it genuinely silent or is it slightly quiet? That's one issue I hate about Fortnite.

Never got a chance to use this, sounds like it would've been pretty cool! Despite hating Valentine's Day.

My favorite part about it is how silent it is. If you miss a shot, you still have the chance to hit him with another due to minimum noise pollution with the arrows. It is also a skilled wielding gun just like the sniper.

I just got on the first time in a while yesterday. I have not been able to use it yet and I am kind of sad about it lmao

The gun really doesnt compare to the other bullet weapons in the game. This gun is really just a mess around weapon to have fun with and get those lucky shots for the videos. Really thought there was going to be a legendary version for it though.
