Red Dead Redemption 2 — Take-Two “Confident” About New Release Date

4.6
During Take-Two’s quarterly investor conference call, Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick talked about Red Dead Redemption 2, which was recently delayed to October 26th, 2018.

Asked about the reasons behind the decision, Zelnick mentioned that the entire focus of the company is on delivering the highest entertainment experience possible. All of Take-Two’s labels are focused on releasing games when they reach the “apex of effort and perfection.”

In this instance, Rockstar felt that more polish was required, and “naturally” Take-Two is in favor of that decision.

According to Zelnick, the October 26th release “is set,” and he is confident on hitting that release date. He also mentioned that the Holiday season can be a “really powerful time” and he feels that while there may be more competition, it’s “a lot more of an open field” today then it was ten years ago. That’s why the publisher is “very excited” about the release and its timing.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled to launch for both PS4 and Xbox One. During the call, Take-Two was asked about potential other platforms but declined to comment.

Ninja I do regularly check twitter on any updates, but I think it genuinely will be released:)

Who knows these days, it's almost like they focus on getting the release date out before the game is even tested, then once it's broken, they have to delay it. It's rather annoying that you cannot rely on the dates they give you any more.

I agree 100% I've mentiined this multiple times, they focus on getting it out ASAP. However these delays show that this is not the case. I hope lol

Silky Hopefully that release date is fuffiled instead of another push back.

I highly doubt that they'll set it back further. One thing I hope is no in-game purchase.

They need to push it out so we can get that new GTA lmao

GTA probably wont be coming out until 2020 if not later. They are going to let this game run for a year or 2 for DLCs and stuff until they finally hint at VI. Thats my thought.

Oh they will. Just like GTA did with heists xD it will be delayed and everyone will get annoyed about. (prob only me)

They just need to release it so they can work on next GTA.

Agreed. Where do you think GTA VI is going to be set in? like what city? I believe Vice City. They probably are already working on or have been working on the new GTA for a while. Just waiting for an announcement lol
