Huge Terraria 1.3 Update Coming Soon for Xbox One

The massive 1.3 update for Terraria has finally been approved for the Xbox One version and is coming soon on Feb. 5.

PC players have had access to the multitude of changes included in the 1.3 patch since 2015 with PlayStation 4 users getting it back in December of 2017, but Xbox One players have had to wait for their update. Following that extended wait with every Terraria player on the Xbox One asking where 1.3 is, the team behind the game recently announced that the patch was finally approved for download.

“We have some fantastic news for you,” Pipeworks Studio’s community manager said. “The Terraria 1.3 Xbox One update will be available to download on Monday, February 5th starting at 9:30 AM PST.

With the release of the update, players will have access to tons of new items, an Expert Mode, new biomes to explore, a revamped UI, and much, much more. Below is a list of the main highlights that will accompany the patch, but if you’re interested in seeing everything that’s involved in the update, it’ll be much easier to visit the console update page directly and navigate the various headers that account for hundreds of adjustments.

Brand new invasions and events - including Martian Madness and the penultimate challenge: the battle vs the Lunar Cultists, Celestial Pillars, and the Moonlord himself!

Over 800 new items - including weapons, armor, potions, building items and more - are available to find or craft!

Expert Mode - Fortune and Glory, Kid... are you willing to take on a much higher challenge with the promise of greater rewards?

New Biomes - the Underground Desert, Sky Lakes, and other mini biomes are out there for you to uncover.

Loads of Quality of Life changes and new features/mechanics

Updated sprites and artwork aligned to the PC 1.3.4 update

Brand new Controller schemes - including Red's Pick and legacy console defaults - as well as full controller remapping so that you can customize your controls to your preferences.

New UI for Single Player and Splitscreen that more closely matches PC.

More save slots for Players and Worlds

Larger worlds that now exactly match their intended sizes on PC

Other smaller visual and otherwise tweaks

Dragon I have never once even touched this game. This update may bring many player back to it, though, and I may even give it a go.


It's Games like this that only certain people have a knack for, some love them some hate it. My issue is that I like some Indy games, so deciding whether to play it or not Always is a struggle. Would be interested in knowing what these 800 new items could be, perhaps something worth playing it!

Izuku I really need to try this game


Its a great game, similar to Minecraft but of course different in many ways. I find it to get boring faster than usual but still a great game to go back to especially after a huge update like this.
That's my issue with games like this, they bore me to death after a while.

Most this arcade-like games bore me after a while (around 5-10 hours) I haven't played this yet, might buy it when I get paid.

Mikey Didn't really fancy this game, but a pretty good update still for those who enjoy playing it.


Personally I find that not many actually play this game but with this huge update, it will bring many players back to test it out and get back into the game.


Agreed. I completely forgot about Terraria.
