Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed Again, But Finally Gets a Release Date

4.1
If you’re eagerly anticipating Red Dead Redemption 2, we have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that it’s coming later than the expected “spring 2018” window (that is, if you consider a delay bad news, which is quite debatable), but the good news is that Rockstar just announced a firm release date.

We will finally be able to ride into the sunset on October 26th, 2018, which is basically two seasons after the previous window.

The motivation for the delay is the usual, with Rockstar requiring “extra time for polish.” We also get an apology for the delay, thanks for the patience, and a bonus batch of screenshots, that you can enjoy at the bottom of the post.

The announcement also mentions that “a lot more information” about the game will be shared in the coming weeks, so the goodies don’t end here.

Dear All,

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

With thanks,
Rockstar Games

Cearnsy Sad that it's delayed but it's better than being rushed out to people

Too many games these days seem rushed, which is why i like most battlefield games, as they seem refined.

personally I feel Battlefield 1 was rushed, not enough in-game quality was put into it which made me bored out of my mind with it. But thats my opinion. But I do agree with Cearnsy, im glad its not being rushed like many games (COD) so us players can have a great experience with the game.

I guess we each have a different opinion on BF1 xD

But the thing is these days, companies who make games try to please everyone in which, hurts the game. They should outline a plan, and stick to it. Otherwise shit like this happens, and happens everytime. If someone is going to like a game, they will like it. Filling it with useless rubbish to attempt to please others is not the way to go about it in my opinion.

Usually when a game sticks to a main priority it's a risk, it can either go wrong or right. Companies don't like taking these risks. Hence why they're constantly adapting.

Exactly. If this game is delayed it means they are fixing and adding and that is good. Rockstar always does s good job with games. I am not worried st all. I judt want GTA VI though...

Im in no rush for this game to come out,. Just hopefully when it does come out, it will be bug free and nothing wrong with it since all these delays. GTA VI probably wont be coming out in awhile though, we havent even heard any rumors about it. They're still giving us DLCs to GTA V too.

I want this game to come out but I dont at the same time.

I want it to come out because I want to play it so bad and I want more news on GTA VI.. but then I dont want it to come out because then the game might have been rushed and buggy and horrible.. ugh
