Sony confirms they were present at PS3 hacker raid

4.5
Sony has confirmed that it was present at the police rading of German PS3 hacker 'Graf_Chokolo'. A rep was on stand-by at his home, and the police seized the PCs and PS3s of the hacker. Interestingly enough, the hacker uploaded his files to the online hacking community prior to the raid. So his investment work will live on.

KMT_EssexBoy I fail to understand why it is possible to get people arrested for hacking a system, it is the developers fault that the system has something that hackers can bypass.. I understand that they do not want people having advantages over them, but there is no reason to get law enforcement involved.
He can't be arrested but the console maker has the right to take away your console and any resources being used to mod it

I can't seem to understand why police are focusing on hackers more than other people who are commiting dangerous crimes. In my eyes this raid is just stupid they should go and try to get TRUE crime offenders instead of focusing on hackers. In my eyes all hackers are doing is exploiting there faulty programming.

I don't see why Sony needs to be doing this. I mean Cmon its there fault that they failed to create a system that wasn't protected enough. I don't see whats the point into bringing Cops inside peoples homes without a warrant. To me I think its fascinating how People can modify a system It takes hard work. I mean just look at the Wii the Homebrew They arent doing anything there are just forcing people to update their Wii's to 4.3 so they cant Pirate anymore.Sony is out of control. Whats next? Killing People?
