Since it debuted on Steam Early Access back in March, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has dominated the conversation with over 20 million players so far, and now players finally have a new glimpse at what’s in store for the massively popular battle royale shooter.

During tonight’s broadcast of The Game Awards, the first gameplay video of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds‘ upcoming new desert map (called Miramar) was shown, giving viewers a much closer look at the game’s second map.

Details and screenshots for the map were shown earlier this week on Steam, but tonight’s trailer gave a much closer look at what’s in store for the new map that features a tough desert terrain compared to the game’s original map, Erangel. Included in the mix of the trailer were some looks at some of the in-game landmarks and notable areas, along with a closer look at some new weaponry, vehicles, and more that players will have at their disposal to win their chicken dinners.

In addition to the new trailer for Miramar, it was also announced at The Game Awards that Miramar will be available for players on the test server for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PC, while the map will be available in the upcoming Xbox One version in the near future.

On a final note in the trailer, PUBG Corps confirmed that the 1.0 release “official” release for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PC is locked in for December 20th, 2017, which will bring an end to the game’s Early Access period.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now on PC through Steam Early Access, while the game will arrive for Xbox One through the Game Preview Program on December 12th, 2017. For a closer look at the upcoming desert map Miramar, you can check out the new trailer from The Game Awards below:
