PlayerUnkown's Battlegrounds Xbox One Install Size Revealed

4.5
The install size of the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been revealed as physical editions of the games surface throughout retailers, an install size that shouldn’t take up too much room on your Xbox One.

According to the description on the back of the boxed version of the upcoming Xbox One game, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds requires you to have up to 30 GB worth of space free on your hard drive. It’s not a massive game compared to others that you’ll have to install – especially those that cross the 100 GB mark thanks to their Xbox One X enhancements – but the catch here is that the game’s download size is subject to change.

The “subject to change” part that follows the install size on the back of the box is there because the Xbox One version of the game, much like the PC version, is still considered unfinished. As more content is added, those buying the game for the Xbox One will absolutely see that size expand as more features are added and expanded. For that reason, you’ll likely want to allot a bit more space for the game, but you can worry about that size expansion when the time comes.

"Game Preview: Game is unfinished and a work in progress, may change over time, and may not release as a final product,” the description reads.

As Windows Central noted, the size of the recommended install space that the game needs is likely aimed at the Xbox one X version of the game that’s already been confirmed. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds doesn’t take up the full 30 GB on the PC, that download only adding up to 8 GB.

You also won’t be receiving an actual disc when you purchase the boxed copy of the game. Much like the physical releases of PC games lately, you’ll find a code to use on your Xbox One in order to download the game.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will launch on the Xbox One with its Xbox One X enhancements on Dec. 12, but look for more information about the release as well as more launch trailers leading up to that date.

themckeeverman11 I will be picking this game up on release, but my only worry is going to be how the game handles using a console controller as it is using unreal engine. Some games I have played on the xbox one which use unreal engine have really bad movement for example dead alliance.

Some people play this on PC with a controller, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Pretty dumb that it says it requires 30GB then only take up 8GB not that storage is a problem for me but i know some people out here that may not like this! Can't wait for it to release tho.

I can only imagine how flooded the servers are going to be when PUBG releases on Xbox. I really hope servers don't go down for hours D:
