The biggest event will kick off on November 6th in New York, New York at the Microsoft Store on Fifth Avenue, where Microsoft employees will be handing out “exclusive Xbox swag.” Attendees will also have a chance to win a new 4K TV.
Other Microsoft stores around the globe will also participate, though activities may vary by location. Still, if you’re heading to a store in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, or Sydney, you may be able to participate in giveaways, exclusive gameplay, and more before picking up your console right at launch. Participating Best Buy, GameStop, and EB Games stores may offer similar rewards, and if you happen to live near the Microsoft Store at Bellevue Square Mall, you’ll be able to attend a meet and greet with the Seahawks’ Cliff Avril.
If you don’t plan on trekking out to a store for the midnight launch, you can tune in to Xbox One X Launch: Live, a special one-hour live stream that Microsoft will host to show different activities happening around the globe. The stream will begin at 8:00 p.m. PT on November 6th and continue until the console launches at 9 p.m. PT. Full details can be found on the Xbox Wire post.
The Xbox One X launches on November 7th, though if you live in a Pacific Time Zone and have a pre-order you can pick it up a few hours before midnight at one of the aforementioned locations.
