Destiny 2’s Iron Banner, Leviathan Prestige raid dated and detailed

4.2
In its latest weekly update, Bungie has revealed the start dates of Destiny 2‘s Iron Banner event and Leviathan Prestige raid.

To start with, the Iron Banner returns on October 10th at 2 a.m. PT and runs through October 17th at 2 a.m. PT. The game mode for the first Iron Banner will be Control, but there are a few changes being made in the sequel, including a move to four players per team, the removal of power advantage, and a new Iron Banner engram system replacing the bounties.

The biggest change in Destiny 2‘s Iron Banner is the removal of power advantage, meaning that players will be on a level playing field regardless of the gear they have. In the original Destiny, players with a higher light level had an advantage in the event.

To take part in the event, players must complete the campaign and then visit Lord Saladin to begin the Iron Banner quest. Following this, players simply need to fight in the Iron Banner playlist with Quickplay modes and matchmaking. Players will earn Iron Banner Tokens at the end of each match that can be traded in for new armor sets.

Bungie also announced that the Prestige difficulty of the Leviathan raid will go live on Tuesday, October 10th at 10 a.m. PT. The Prestige raid has a recommended power of 300 and will contain “minimal” mechanical changes, according to the developer.

“We do not expect everyone to be successful in completing this activity. Mechanical changes to the encounters are minimal, but they are there,” Bungie explains. “The Prestige Raid is about mastering a more punishing sandbox. Our goal is not to provide a boon to your character progression, but there are unique rewards to help you shine. Consider this your invitation to prove to the world that you are among the very best of the Raiders who overlook the City.”

Destiny 2 is available now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will be coming to PC later this month.

Illustrated So whats the point of Iron Banner then? They removed the only aspect that made it different. Now it's just the same crucible we have, with different gear rewards? I thought Iron Banner being based off power level was the ENTIRE point of it.

Exactly and not increasing the light level cap is disappointing.

Already tired of this game tbh, Destiny 1 had more things to do in it on launch i feel like. Will at least try out the prestige raid when it is released.

Im excited to see how fast people complete this prestige raid since some people have perfected the raid itself in getting done in 15 minutes or less. Its crazy

Iron Banner coming back...I'm hyped. Took a break from Destiny because I was burned out for a little.
