Bluehole in Talks With Sony About Bringing PUBG to PS4

4.3
In case somehow you haven’t noticed, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a big deal. How big? 13 million copies sold in six months big. Aka a recording breaking 1.5 million Steam concurrent users big. Yeah, that big. Mystifyingly big.

And what’s been even more mystifying is that it hasn’t been announced for PlayStation 4 yet. Well, not officially. It has perhaps been suggested in the past that it would eventually make its way to Sony’s console, but as you know, developers are frustratingly closed-lipped about console exclusivity periods (something they likely have no choice in).

We know the survival battle-royale shooter is coming to Xbox One via Xbox Game Preview later this year. And we also know that a full launch is planned for early 2018. But where does that put a potential PS4 version of the game? Well, we don’t know.

But in a new interview with Bloomberg, Bluehole’s founder Chang Byung-gyu confirmed that the developer has been in talks with all major console companies, specifically mentioning ongoing talks with Sony about introducing a PS4 version after the game launches on Xbox One.

Interestingly, Chang says that Bluehole is in talks with all major console companies, but only specifically mentions Sony. But surely, Nintendo is included in “all major console companies.” Isn’t it? Is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds coming to Nintendo Switch? My brain says no chance, but my heart is optimistic.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available on PC via Steam Early Access for $29.99 USD.

RepBandit If this will bring more people to buy the game then they are doing what most people would do if their game blew up

-Silky I kinda had hoped this would be a Xbox exclusive.

That wouldn't be possible considering that PuBG is on pc already.

I meant console exclusive.

BPM Unlikely it will happen, with PUBG have the backing of Microsoft and using tech from Sea of Thieves another game studios owned by Microsoft, I cant see them giving it any blessing.

It will eventually. They are still in talks with Microsoft about a lot of stuff.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see this across all platforms sooner or later, just hope they can pull it off.
