Kinect breaking 'older' Xbox 360 consoles?

according to third party reports, a number of of Xbox 360 owners are claiming that Kinect broke their system. A thread on the official Xbox forums contains a number of players saying their system died after plugging Kinect in. One example is as follows - "At the weekend I spent £130 on a Kinect and a further £30 on Dance Central, so when I got home I excitedly plugged it into my Xbox... However within 5 minutes it froze up and when I turned it on again it had the dreaded 3 red rings showing." Following this, another user responded confirming the same event!

This is wrong, they are not using kinect right.

I bet everyone whos xbox broke because of Kinect do not realize its their fault.

There is a power adapter that comes with the Kinect for older xboxs.

Old xboxs CPUs cannot take the power of Kinect forcing the RROD because not enough power but with the new xboxs they are "Kinect ready" meaning the use of the power adapter is not needed. But for older ones it is REQUIRED.

That is why older xboxs are breaking.
Its their own fault

I got a kinect for christmas, and I also have a older xbox 360. It works perfectly fine for me. Idk what happened with any of y'all. O_o;

Dance Central is amazing, because you get to perform actual dance moves instead of like just moving ur arms like in previous games... Although i don't know much about other console's games
