Frostpunk’s Release Postponed to Early 2018

4.1
Poland-based developer 11 bit Studios — the team behind This War of Mine and Beat Cop — has announced that Frostpunk is no longer planned to release later this year, but will rather hit sometime in early 2018.

According to the Warsaw developer, the delay comes in the face of wanting to deliver Frostpunk to a global audience, meaning seven languages (English, German, French, Russian, Chinese, Spanish and Polish) supported and quality localizations, which “take[s] time.”

Besides this, 11 bit Studios also wants to release a retail version of the game alongside a digital release, as well as some kind of limited collector’s edition, which again, takes time.

For those that don’t know: Frostpunk at its core is a city-building game where you play as the leader of a steam-powered city that is the last bastion of humanity in a world that is completely frozen-over.

The main theme of the game explores what people are capable of when they are pushed to the limits. As you could guess, the situation is dire, but yet you have to oversee a society, manage resources, make difficult and ambitious choices, and eventually grow a city. Further, you will have to explore the outside world to understand its history and get a better feel on its present state.

Frostpunk is in development for PC, while console versions remain up in the air. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out its relatively recently released debut gameplay trailer showcasing the game’s grim tone.

Xbox Always hate to see a game get postponed or delayed but if it's for the better I can understand why. No need to rush a project you feel is unfinished or needs some more tweaks.

Yeah it's annoying but let's just hope finished product is even better.

Seems to be quite a few pushed back games recently- aslong as they put the effort in to meet the further deadline I'm happy.

Its good to seem them push the games back a little just to make sure everythings good. although it can be very annoying.

I don't see this as a bad thing since it means they can work on there game for a longer time therefore it should be better.
