In a recent interview with Tek Syndicate (via VG24/7), Hines said that Bethesda has a game coming out this year that hasn’t even been announced yet.
“We have a ton of stuff going on—and we even have a game coming out this year that we haven’t even told anybody about yet,” he said. “They can wait. It won’t be so long.”
When pushed for more information, he said that he’s not saying anything more about it. However, Hines later took to Twitter and appeared to backtrack on what he said in the interview, saying that people should just ignore him. This seems odd though, because he seems pretty confident about what he’s saying in the video. Maybe Hines is just trying to throw us off the scent now he’s let it slip?

There’s only two major events left before the end of the year where Bethesda could announce this mysterious game—if it even exists: PSX and the Video Game Awards. Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at the VGAs in 2010, so that would be the best bet if it’s going to happen.
Now before everyone gets too excited, the chances are that this game is simply a new mobile title, which Bethesda has previously said it is working on, but a part of me hopes that it’s the previously rumored sci-fi RPG Starfield. I know there’s a 99.9 percent chance that Starfield doesn’t even exist, but a man can dream.
