Microsoft has a plan to avoid Xbox One X shortages

4.6
Microsoft has high hopes for the Xbox One X, especially since its recently announced Project Scorpio Edition sold out pre-orders in many countries within a few days, according to a recent announcement by Xbox.

In fact, according to that statement, Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition is the “fastest-selling Xbox pre-order ever,” based on how quickly it sold out.

That’s good news for Xbox, but what does that mean for fans who want to pre-order an Xbox One X?

According to a recent interview with Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft plans on making “as many Xbox One Xs as we can make. All the signs are that it’s going to be the number one hit product of this holiday, so we’re going to keep up with demand the best that we can.”

While Greenberg is confident in the Xbox One X’s sales potential, he said he would “not be surprised” if the older, less powerful Xbox One S remained its highest-selling console, at least for now.

Despite the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition’s “fastest-selling” pre-order rush, it’s a little too early to tell exactly how successful and demanded the standard Xbox One X will be until its pre-orders become available sometime next month. After all, the Project Scorpio Edition is a limited edition item for the same price as the standard Xbox One X, so you’d kind of expect those to sell out, especially when the standard edition still isn’t available for pre-order. Xbox hasn’t released exact figures on how many it sold or how many it even made available, so we kind of have to take this news with a grain of salt.

Xbox One X will launch on November 7th, with over 100 games confirmed to be getting the “Xbox One X enhanced” treatment.

Unfortunately, Crackdown 3, which was originally scheduled as an Xbox One X launch title, has been delayed into 2018.

I hope this is true, I do not want to pre-order one and the xbox one, ps4 and nintendo switch on release where all a pain to find if you did not pre-order.

You would think they would've been prepared for high intakes of pre-orders, at least I got mine in.

Hopefully they produce enough to avoid shortage, nothing worse than queuing to find out there's none left especially for the high demand now for them coming in

XboxPosted:

Hopefully they don't run out especially after how quick the Scorpio edition sold out.

Who's making duplicate news threads lol. I wouldn't be surprised either if the S stayed as the highest selling console for now as 4K aint really Mainstream yet.. yes its out there but not EVERYONE has a 4k tv or monitor.. give it a few years and it will be.

I should think so as well for the Xbox One S sold out on the pre-orders for that console.
