First FIFA 18 Footage on Nintendo Switch

4.5
We've been waiting a long time to get our first look of FIFA 18 running on the Nintendo Switch, and the wait is finally over. NintendoEverything got some hands-on time with the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 at Gamescom, and the footage above is direct-feed footage taken directly from the Switch. I think you'll all agree that things are looking pretty good here. You can fast-forward to the 2:45 mark to start watching some actual gameplay.

When EA announced that it would be bringing a version of FIFA to the Switch we were elated. Then, after months of radio silence, we were concerned that the port wasn't going to shape up quite like we hoped. After Steep seemed to disappear into the nether and reports that the port had run into some trouble surfaced online, we assumed that FIFA might meet the same fate, with EA putting the Switch version on the back-burner in favor of the more promising PS4 and XBO versions.

Well here we are. We're finally getting a fully-featured FIFA game, with great visuals, in portable form. You can see from the video above that gameplay for the most part seems to rock at 1080p / 60fps. It was a bit hard to tell, but I think during some portions, during close-up shots the framerate would drop to 30fps. Either way performance seemed consistent across the board, player models are convincing and well-animated, and there doesn't seem to be any aggravating aliasing to note.

EA SPORTS FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch is the most immersive, social, and authentic football game ever created for Nintendo players. Feature packed, you can now play the world’s game anytime, anywhere and in unique ways with FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch.

Why would anyone want this game on the Switch.

Eh, not sure on Fifa on Switch tbh, I don't think it's the right style to play it more of a controller game. Don't think it's going to work out well for EA

Can full on not imagine playing FIFA on a Switch.

Considering TTG didn't include the video I can't be certain. However, I know there has been footage of the gameplay for a couple months now at least. This is old news.

TF, how can you play that game on that system.
Controller is better. Footage would be great to see.
