Sonic Mania PC Version Delayed by Two Weeks

4.4
Sega just announced that the release date for the PC version of Sonic Mania has been pushed back by a few days.

During a live stream on YouTube, we heard that the PC version of Sonic Mania will now be released on August 29th. The reason mentioned is that the development team wants to provide a bit more optimization to ensure the game is of the highest quality when it is officially available.

Fortunately, there is a silver-linning; those who already pre-ordered the game will receive a free copy of the original Sonic the Hedgehog. The offer will be available to those who pre-ordered either the Standard or the Collector’s Editions. While PC owners looking to get their hands on the retro Sonic title will have to wait a little longer, PlayStation 4, Switch and Xbox One owners will be happy to know that the console version is still on track to launch on August 15th.

Sonic Mania is a 2D platformer featuring retro-style graphics co-developed by Sonic Team, by Christian Whitehead, Headcanon, and PagodaWest Games while the publishing rights are owned by Sega. Players will be able to control Sonic in addition to Miles ‘Tails’ Prower and Knuckles the Echidna. Along with the co-op mode, a competitive multiplayer will also be available.
