CoD: WWII “Right Game at the Right Time” According to Activision

4.4
During Activision’s quarterly financial conference call, Chief Executive Officer Eric Hirshberg talked about the publisher’s outlook for Call of Duty: WWII.

Hirshberg explained that the trends for the game are “really good.”

Activision feels that they “have the right game at the right time.” Those who have played are pleased by the return to “boots on the ground” and to human scale, authentic military context. It’s a “welcome change” and “very well timed.”

The content that has been demoed had a “really positive” response from fans and critics. The reveal trailer was the most liked video in Call of Duty history, and has the most organic views of any COD reveal trailer ever. The hands-on multiplayer at E3 was “well received” and the Zombie trailer revealed at San Diego Comic Con has been the most liked Zombie trailer ever.

Call of Duty: WWII will release for PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 3rd. A PS4 beta will start on August 25th, with Xbox One joining on September 1st.

Yeah definitely not the right time for the game to come out, like ZTG said I was a lot more hyped for something like this a while ago.

I wouldn't say the right time but hopefully it's well worth it and better than these last shitty cods we've been getting the last 4 or so years

This is way too late for this sort of thing.

Should've came out a year or two ago, I'm not very hyped as I was years ago for this.

More like the right game a year too late.

Vancouver_Canucks but claim it was a fresh idea with no fan influence?

That's exactly what I took away from reading that too lmao, like they had some genius figure it out and now they are giving each other high-fives

A year too late BF1 beat them to it

SilkyPosted:

The hype is big with this game that can't be denied but will it perform on the day?

So basically, they're going to milk the hell out of fans finally getting what they've been asking for years, but claim it was a fresh idea with no fan influence?

Still a long way to go before release so it's more than likely they'll screw something up.

There are two things that got me interested in CoD:

- The warfare, being able to experience military operations in your home, making you feel as if you're at war.
- The fun, being able to do glitches, quickscope/noscope/trickshot along with playing fanmade game modes like Michael Myers, dodgeball, cops and robbers, knife battles, etc. all in private matches. It was more than just a war game you took seriously, you could explore maps and discover things within the game, all while having fun. Not to mention the wonderful and iconic campaigns.

While I do like the newer CoDs, they took that aspect out of the games for me. It became just another shooter that was fun to play occasionally.

Look at the prop- hunt in CoD 4, some may say (Oh don't ruin this game!), but that's exactly what CoD was CoD 4 and on! Fun! Creating fun things to do that the developers otherwise wouldn't have considered. Zombies isn't warlike at all but was such an iconic part of the game!

I wonder if the new CoD will be more like the original CoDs, or like CoD 4 and on.
