PlayStation Plus Price Rises Internationally

4.3
Our gaming brothers and sisters in Europe are feeling the annoyance that US PlayStation gamers felt this time last year when the price for a year's subscription to PlayStation Plus went up from $50 to $60. We've gotten over it by now and have been paying $60 for some time whether we like it or not, but this morning European PlayStation gamers woke up to a rather unpleasant email.

The email started out by announcing that PlayStation Plus prices "are changing." Change, as I'm sure you're aware, always indicates a hike in price, and never a decrease in price. A yearly subscription is going from £39.99 to £49.99. "We will alter the price of a PlayStation Plus membership at 00:01 BST on 31 August 2017," the email stated. "As you are an existing member, this means that all recurring subscription fees payable by you on or after 31 August 2017 will be charged at the new price. up until 31 August 2017, you may purchase a PlayStation Plus subscription at the current price, which will then be added (or 'stacked on') to your current membership period."

A 20-25% increase in subscription price is pretty significant, and it really makes you wonder what we've been given in exchange. On one hand, you could simply wave this off as inflation. Heck, ever since Xbox Live launched with the original Xbox, one-year memberships were $40-50. On the other hand, with such a significant hike in price you'd expect Sony to appease players by assuring us that the higher entry fee is justified by new features. We've not received any such appeasement, and that's left gamers in a pretty sour spot.

Echo And Nintendo over here charging $20 for a hole year. Lizard Squad made a fool out of Sony when they took down PS at Christmas last year. What they spend all their money on i'll never know.

I laughed at that shit. Both PS4and PS3 had tlike 2 whole days of no internet at all. Xbox One was out for almost a whole day... and for some unknown reason, Xbox 360 was not affected by this. Halo 3's playlist population shot up to 20thou because Xbox One users booted their 360s back up and went on live while they waited for XOne to come back up

Yeah way too expensive I think.

They need to follow in Nintendo's shoes. They got the pricing right
