Modern Warfare Remastered Now Available Separately On Xbox One And PC

3.8
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered originally came out last year, and impressed fans of the original game, mainly due to Raven Software’s treatment of the old-school material, making it feel like a fresh entry in the series. That said, a lot of fans were disappointed that the only way you could play it is if you purchased the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition.

That changed last month when Activision announced that the PS4 version of Modern Warfare: Remastered was available as a standalone purchase. That pleased plenty of folks, but left Xbox One and PC owners wondering, “Can we have a turn?” Indeed, you can.

Confirmed last week, the company confirmed today that the game is now available as a standalone release in both physical and digital form on Xbox One, and as a digital-only release for Steam. The game is available for $39.99, and includes the full campaign and all the multiplayer maps fans know and love from the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, all released with stunning high-definition visuals.

The company noted in a press release, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered features fully improved texture resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio, and much more. Fans can relive the full, iconic story campaign as they're transported around the globe with Capt. Price, Gaz and Soap across all the missions from the original game, including All Ghillied Up, Charlie Don't Surf, and Crew Expendable. Players will also experience the online multiplayer mode that redefined Call of Duty by introducing killstreaks, XP, Prestige and more, and battle head-to-head in the fan-favorite maps from the original multiplayer mode, including classics such as Crash, Backlot and Crossfire.”

Modern Warfare: Remastered has seen a number of add-ons released for the past few months, and with the Call of Duty summer program in full swing, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we saw a couple of more come out, just to please the old-school fans behind the game.

The price is a little steep, but there’s no question that this version of Modern Warfare really deserves it. Besides, who doesn’t like going back to the old-school?

I swear they said it wouldn't be sold separately.

Why make this separation so late, not worth it

Lol i guess this is good for people who like this shit game

Lol, they said it'll never happen but I knew it would happen.

I wouldn't buy this again and especially for 40 as a standalone. Game went to shit real quick in my opinion.

If you're on PC you're better off buying the original. Still plenty of active servers and better than this.

What a joke, Making people buy there shitty new game just to have this then to release this on its own months later

MWR is terrible. The nostalgia when it was first released was great but the whole game has went in a different direction and just isn't the same as the old Cod4, which is the best CoD ever made imo.
If you've been waiting to buy this, don't. Wait for WWII.

Sad that I've been waiting for this for so long -- only for it to be far too late now as I'm sure that the game is relatively dead.

Well and truly too late. $40 for a stand alone and $46.99 for it bundled with Infinite warfare. Shows you how useless the later was and months too late to be bothered with the stand alone remastered now.

Especially when the PC steam version is hammered for negative reviews and how bad the port is.
