Modern Warfare Remastered Now Available Separately On Xbox One And PC

3.8
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered originally came out last year, and impressed fans of the original game, mainly due to Raven Software’s treatment of the old-school material, making it feel like a fresh entry in the series. That said, a lot of fans were disappointed that the only way you could play it is if you purchased the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition.

That changed last month when Activision announced that the PS4 version of Modern Warfare: Remastered was available as a standalone purchase. That pleased plenty of folks, but left Xbox One and PC owners wondering, “Can we have a turn?” Indeed, you can.

Confirmed last week, the company confirmed today that the game is now available as a standalone release in both physical and digital form on Xbox One, and as a digital-only release for Steam. The game is available for $39.99, and includes the full campaign and all the multiplayer maps fans know and love from the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, all released with stunning high-definition visuals.

The company noted in a press release, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered features fully improved texture resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio, and much more. Fans can relive the full, iconic story campaign as they're transported around the globe with Capt. Price, Gaz and Soap across all the missions from the original game, including All Ghillied Up, Charlie Don't Surf, and Crew Expendable. Players will also experience the online multiplayer mode that redefined Call of Duty by introducing killstreaks, XP, Prestige and more, and battle head-to-head in the fan-favorite maps from the original multiplayer mode, including classics such as Crash, Backlot and Crossfire.”

Modern Warfare: Remastered has seen a number of add-ons released for the past few months, and with the Call of Duty summer program in full swing, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we saw a couple of more come out, just to please the old-school fans behind the game.

The price is a little steep, but there’s no question that this version of Modern Warfare really deserves it. Besides, who doesn’t like going back to the old-school?

Robbery and done this way too late should've been done 3-4 month's after the game dropped.

Definitely not worth the $40. This "Remastered" is trash IMO, & CoD4 was my first CoD & my all time favorite.
If you want to waste your money on this game go for it, but you should just wait for WW2

It's funny, I was staring at my MW 360 disc and looked up at my screen, saw I could buy it for $40. Told you it's funny.

Anyways I recently game shared with a friend who bought it (not for that purpose, I wanted to give him RL, BF1 and overwatch) and I saw it was downloaded when I got on so I gave it a shot. It really doesn't play like the original, so much so I only hit level 5 and uninstalled it, so I 2nd VMP
VMP It's so sad because this was my favorite COD , but it plays nothing like the original so I'll stay away from this one :(

Library The game's actual price is $39.99, it was a typo. I still don't consider this a good move, everybody who wanted MWR got it along with IW. It's ridiculous to get it now.

Ehhh kind of. I know a few people who bitched and complained about them having to buy IW with it and still have not bought it yet. Whether they're still interested in the game or not is unknown, but I know there were plenty of people who ended up not buying it solely because they didn't want to have to buy a different game they had no interest in. I ended buying it anyways, even though I didn't want IW, but given the problems it had on PC; no matter the hardware you had, it died real quick for me. Haven't touched it since like January.

-Simplicity Nice to see it's finally on XB1/PC, but think it's a little too late for this now.

its actually stupid if you think about it. The only reason infinite warfare sold decently well was because they forced us to buy MWR with it.
