Destiny 2 reveals a new Crucible mode and arena

4.2
If you’re sad that the Destiny 2 open beta is ending soon, now you can be even sadder that you never got to play what looks like one of Destiny 2‘s most promising new modes.

Survival is a new Crucible mode in which each team has a certain amount of collective lives, and once those lives run out, you have one more death until you’re eliminated. The goal is to eliminate the enemy team before they eliminate you. Think Gears of War’s version of team deathmatch, and you have a good idea of how Survival operates.

The match takes place on a new Mercury map, Altar of Flame, which is a medium-sized map linked to the mysterious Osiris, according to Crucible lead designer Lars Bakken. The map also features a power ammo spawn in the middle of the map, funneling players into contentious close-quarter combat.

If you want to see the game mode and map in action, IGN recently posted a quick gameplay video, which you can watch below:

Really does look amazing would have been nice to try this out in the beta.

They should have put this in the beta, instead they gave us the same thing everyone has been doing for the last 3 years.

Looks pretty cool, I didn't really enjoy the beta but i'll still be buying the game to play with friends, hopefully when the full game comes out I enjoy Destiny 2 more.
