Kinect sales at 2.5 million

4.5
After less than a month on the market, Microsoft’s Kinect motion sensor has sold 2.5 million units worldwide, the company’s announced. The sales frenzy that was this past Black Friday weekend put the device over the mark.

Half way there then.

“We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect,” says Don Mattrick, Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business prez, “and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand.”

The previous newsworthy mark, 1 million sold, was reached within 10 days of availability.

I'm really happy to hear about Kinect's success, but I'm kinda pissed off, because the other day, I went to go trade my Wii in for the Kinect, and they were sold out everywhere I go. I can't seem to find one sensor. I've wanted it every since the revealed it at E3 2008 as Project Notal but to many people are buying it for Christmas time.
