Nintendo Switch Online app has launched on iOS & Android

4.4
The phone app that you’re going to use for voice chat on the Nintendo Switch has officially launched on iOS & Android.

Right now, the app is only compatible with Splatoon 2. When the game launches later this week, you’ll be able to use a service within the app called SplatNet 2 to invite other players to matches, and use voice chat.

There’s a wide list of activities you can invite friends to in Splatoon 2, but the app also keeps track of your in-game stats and shows upcoming events. Invites will appear as a notification on your phone, so long as you have the app installed.

The Nintendo Switch Online app is free. Voice chat and online play in Splatoon 2 are also free, but only until the Switch Online service launches sometime in 2018. Nintendo already confirmed the service will cost $20 per year.

Quite cheap tbh - was thinking of getting a Switch after seeing my bro play his.

Such cheap prices! Might have to look into an investment.

I mean it's a alright price but nothing something I would waste my money on.

I like the price they're charging $20 for a full year compared to PS $59.99

This is the dumbest thing on earth that they are making you use an app to talk to friends. The fact that you'll have to keep the app open and that app only without being connected is horseshit. Also having to have a cable running from the phone and switch to the same adapter that connects to the headset is dumb as can be.

Nintendo charging for their online service is BS. but people will pay for it anyways.
