Skate 3 is finally playable on PC—but it’s far from ideal

A YouTuber recently got a collection of PS3 games running on PC through an emulator, most intriguing of which is arguably Skate 3.

The Skate 3 emulation suffers from some notable visual issues, but surprisingly, it seems to run without too much of a problem. It may not be the most optimal way to enjoy the game, but the work could pave the way for a smoother Skate 3 experience on PC down the line.

The other games YouTuber reznoire managed to get working on their RPCS3 emulator include Dante’s Inferno, Resogun, and Daytona USA. All of the emulated games—with the exception of Daytona USA—are console-exclusive titles, and while this is an alternative for PC players, it seems preferable to just play them on consoles than resort to this.

However one chooses to play Skate 3, it will be the most advanced Skate experience fans will be enjoying for some time. Earlier this year, publisher EA revealed that is was “not presently making Skate 4.” Things could have changed over recent months, but fans shouldn’t get their hopes up for an announcement any time in the immediate future.

Emulator progress is coming along great but its going to be a few years before we get the performance we would expect on the console itself.

Hopefully they can get this fixed. Really enjoyed playing on PS3 so wouldn't mind seeing this on PC.

Mikey Don't think I would get on with the controls on a PC with this game.

emulators uses a controller if you use kb and m on an console emulator then youre dumb as **** like legit not even joking if you believe its a pc game then thats sad as well

You might as well just buy a 360 for $60 at that point
