Call of Duty: WWII confirms third-person perspective for one mode

4.3
The Headquarters social space in Call of Duty: WWII will allow players to view it from a third-person perspective.

The Call of Duty series has always been a first-person experience at its core, apart from the occasional and optional dalliance with third-person. Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey recently responded to a fan question on Twitter regarding rumors of a third-person perspective in WWII‘s Zombies mode. While he didn’t exactly resolve the issue at hand—the confusing wording of the question makes it unclear whether Condrey is saying third-person isn’t in Zombies at all, that Zombies supports both third- and first-person, or that third-person is in Zombies but also in other game modes—the studio head did confirm that at least one mode, Headquarters, will definitively include a third-person camera.

Similar to the Tower in Destiny, a third-person perspective in social spaces makes in easier to navigate around the non-combat zone, while giving players the opportunity to better appreciate the look of their characters. Aside from general socialization, WWII‘s Headquarters mode will offer scorestreak testing, 1v1 PvP arenas, player commendations, and more.

Call of Duty: WWII is slated to launch November 3rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Dismiss Third person shouldn't be an option online. It's way too much of an advantage to players that use it vs players who don't. Ultimately someone can sit behind a corner and see your every move without you knowing he's there. That's not how a fps should be.

Did you read the article first before posting ?

He is saying 3rd person will be in the social area not when playing in pubs.

I hope it's like ESO where you can change perspective, don't really want to have to be in 3rd person all the time in HQ
