New information on Call of Duty: WWII‘s elusive Zombies mode has been discovered through cryptic clues, preparing us for the mode’s full reveal later this month.

Call of Duty YouTuber MrRoflWaffles (who seriously needs to take a breath) was recently mailed a mysteriously letter by WWII developer Sledeghammer Games. The letter included a huge piece of what is believed to be the Zombies narrative, as well as a code listed at the bottom of the paper (12091) which was only discovered hidden on the letter after some tinkering.

The letter follows the tale of Klaus Fischer, who is writing to his sister Marie about his discovery of Barbarossa’s sword. Klaus describes his involvement with the Nazis as they research the potentially mystical sword, suggesting that Klaus is the source for our undead woes in the upcoming Zombies experience.


As for the code, MrRoflWaffles dropped a second video in which he shows that punching it into the Call of Duty: WWII Zombies teaser site—responsible for our earlier Zombies clues—produces a number new secrets, including several entries in Marie’s journal. In the journal, she talks about joining the American’s Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives Program in an effort to return home and rescue her brother from his new obsession, setting the stage for some potentially catastrophic familial conflict.

An image also surfaces on the site after submitting the code, which is the same image Klaus sent to Marie in the original letter opened by MrRoflWaffles. What looks like an ominous German town, this could be the first map on which we will fight off zombies.
