Xbox One is finally getting a gifting feature. This confirmation was shared by Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra on Twitter recently.

A follower asked Ybarra how far off Microsoft is from adding the ability for players to gift a friend new purchases on the store. “Not far,” was his answer.

Sadly, Ybarra didn’t divulge any other details such as how we can expect this to work, and whether it’ll just be limited to new purchases. Regardless, this is big news for Xbox players, particularly considering the feature isn’t available on either of the big console stores to this day.

Adding a gift feature comes with its own set of challenges, though, and it may end up being limited by region or other factors. However, it’s one of the big things fans have been asking for since as far back as the start of the previous generation of consoles.
