The SNES Classic Edition is already being scalped

4.3
Nintendo revealed the mini SNES Classic Edition yesterday, and from fans’ enthusiastic response, it might prove to be even more popular than the original NES Classic.

Sales and pre-orders haven’t opened up in the United States yet, but the U.K. was able to start placing pre-orders ahead of time. And, predictably, U.K. vendors are already completely sold out.

Scalpers have already taken to selling their extra units on Ebay, booting the console’s price up from the retail price of £79.99 to as much as £199.99 (approximately $256).

Nintendo has promised that it learned its lesson from the NES Classic, and plans to have more units in stock from the get-go. Judging by the sales in the U.K., though, American buyers will still have to act fast.

Nintendo has not yet announced when the mini SNES Classic Edition will be up for pre-order. It will be released on September 29th.
