New games releasing this week: June 26 – July 2

4.8
Crash Bandicoot is back and so are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Diablo 3, but don’t be fooled – stacks of new and interesting things are happening this week, too.

There’s rather a lot happening this week even when you sift out the usual PSN guff. The biggest news is Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which fans have been asking for pretty much since the PSOne retired. It was a labour of love since the original Crash Bandicoot source code was unavailable, so make an effort to appreciate it.

In close second place is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, arriving standalone on PS4 first with PC and Xbox One release dates to be confirmed; previously it had only been available as a bonus with special editions of Infinite Warfare. You won’t find many retailers advertising this yet, which isn’t terribly surprising; even Sony’s official release list failed to mention this last minute announce. Check with your favourite vendor closer to the date.

There’s a bit of a funny one out this week, too – Valkyria Revolution. This is part of the same franchise as strategy series Valkyria Chronicles, bit it’s an action-RPG spin-off. It still has strategic elements in place, and there’s optional perma-death, so it sounds pretty interesting even if it’s not the direct sequel you hoped for.

While we’re on the subject of Japanese games, Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls arrives in North America this week, shortly after European release. The fan base is already going wild for it. There’s also Tokyo Xanadu, a new type of RPG from the team behind Ys.

Changing track completely now, Elite Dangerous finally arrives on PS4 after enjoying great success on both PC and Xbox One. Get out there and see what secrets Frontier Developments has hidden just for you.

Already have MWR but it's about time it's out standalone. Never played Crash Bandicoot or Diablo but it's something i'm willing to try.
