The Xbox One X can stand vertically, but it’ll cost you extra

3.7
Microsoft’s Xbox One X dominates the console power war, with its six teraflop GPU and 12GB of GDDR5 RAM, but one feature fans were unsure to even hope for is indeed included. It can stand vertically.

According to Microsoft’s official description of the console, the Xbox One X can be placed in either a horizontal or vertical orientation, regardless of the system being on or off, much like the Xbox One S before it. The description also reveals an “optional stand” will be available for purchase, with no current pricing or release date available at this time.

The current Xbox One S stand retails for $20, which could be an indicator that the new version for the latest console won’t be too far off from that price.

The Xbox One X is the smallest Xbox yet, while also outperforming every current console on the market. The system is set to launch on November 7th, 2017 for $499.

Does it really matter which way your console stands/sits?
The fact you would have to pay extra for it to be able to stand is ridiculous though

if the vents are on the back and sides id just let it lay down

I wouldn't even want it to be vertical lol, let alone pay for it lol

Don't care. Whenever I have a console vertical I normally knock it down. No go for me

I normally have my Xbox lying down but to be fair if you want to have it standing up and if the stand is 20 then there's no real complaint there the Xbox x is cheap considering everything

I like the idea of being able to stand the console up but i will leave to laying it down like i have for the 360 and one

SR20DET I don't my things standing up. You're just making it that bit easier to break it in some way like knocking it over. I know that I'd not be standing this up especially as my desk it kinda tall.

Couldn't agree more it just gives a better chance for it to knock over, much rather it lying flat, people complain about vertical standing ruining discs too never happened to me tho

I have the stand for the S & I don't use it that much, Even now the X is smaller then the S. So I couldn't see it taking up alot of space like the original Xbox One did.

Not bad. I may prefer it vertically depending on my new entertainment system. I've had multiple systems stand vertically. Never had a issue. Not sure how other users systems have fallen over lol
