E3 2017: PlayStation Recap: Days Gone, Call of Duty, God of War

4.7
Today, during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s E3 2017 press conference developer Naughty Dog released a new trailer for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was first announced at PlayStation Experience 2016. The expansion stars fan-favorite and one of the series’ more prominent characters, Chloe Frazer. In The Lost Legacy, Chloe must enlist the aid of renowned mercenary Nadine Ross, — who you may know from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End — in order to recover a fabled ancient Indian artifact and keep it out of the hands of a ruthless war profiteer.

Notably, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to be the first ever standalone release in history of the Uncharted series and will be Naughty Dog’s most substantial story expansion to date. It will be available as a standalone game on store shelves, as well as for digital download.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to hit PS4 on August 22, 2017 (August 23rd if you’re in Europe) for $39.99 USD. Anyone who pre-orders The Lost Legacy at participating retailers will receive a free digital copy of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (which is scheduled to hit the PS4 as a PS2 classic later this year) when it launches on August 22nd.

Horizon: Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds
As one of this year’s most critically-acclaimed titles, Horizon: Zero Dawn became one of the marquee titles for PS4 owners, with most of the game set to arrive later this year.

During Sony Interactive Entertainment’s press conference at E3 2017, new DLC for Horizon: Zero Dawn was revealed for later this year, titled “The Frozen Wilds.”

Days Gone Gets 12 Minutes of Gameplay

First announced at PSX 2016, Days Gone is in development as a PS4 exclusive by Sony in-house studio, SIE Bend Studio (commonly referred to as Sony Bend). The game is set to be the first IP created by the developer since Syphon Filter in 1999, and will be the studio’s first game since 2010 (aka it’s been a long-time-coming).

As briefly mentioned above, Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game that is set to two years after a devastating global pandemic. In the game you play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival, and who is searching for a reason to live.

God of War
The game, in development at Sony Santa Monica under the direction of Cory Barlog, looks even better than it did last year.

You can check out the trailer below, and see if you can avoid being impressed, because I couldn’t.

God of War will be released exclusively for PS4 in early 2018.

Sony took the hard L this year. Their conference was lackluster and boring. Even the crowd was bored. Every time it panned over them, they were on their phones not even watching the reveals. Then there was no reactions. Even Days Gone, God of War and Spider Man about 10 people clapped.

I think it's amusing they won't release backward compatibility but they'll remaster games for more profit. Skyrim was just a blatant " Look at me I'm Mr Sony and I have Skyrim VR!! " milking. Shadow of Colossus would be great. But again, just a remaster. Don't really care. Played hundreds of hours of that already.

The new games were generic. Days Gone just another zombie game that can be compared with the other thousands. Didn't see anything special about it at all. God of War. Looked alright. CoD. CTRL C + CTRL V. Monster Hunter. Meh. Not my game at all. Would look nice on the Xbox X though. All the VR games were just bland. VR isn't good enough yet to warrant excitement.

Then the big reveal was Spooder Man. It looked slow and clunky imo. The gameplay combat didn't seem smooth or tactical. There was delays between attacks etc making it look less impressive than it could of been.

All Sony had to do was show 8 minutes of The Last of Us 2 and that it. They would of won and there would of been more excitement than what there actually was.

Call of duty and Spider-Man are the only things that interested me

Sonys conference was not as good as Xbox, however, there were a few games that interested me like Spider-man, Monster Hunter World, and to see the Call Of Duty World War 2 trailer and the Destiny 2 trailer was really awesome.

Kixa Wasn't the Days gone gameplay the same from last year?

To me it appeared different. I remember last year them showing him working his way up to a rooftop and mowing down tons of zombies along the way. Looked like World War Z

I'm pretty sure this isn't the correct video that was shown at this years E3 this is

I think you're right. I didn't even notice that TTG posted the wrong one. And this is last year's.
