E3 2017: Crackdown 3 Launches on November 7th; New Trailer Released

4.7
Today, during the Microsoft E3 2017 press conference developer Reagent Games (along with Sumo Digital) and Microsoft announced that their open-world action-adventure game, Crackdown 3 is launching on November 7th.

For those that don’t know: Crackdown 3 was first announced during Microsoft E3 press conference all the way back in 2014 as an Xbox One exclusive. At the time, it was revealed that Dave Jones, formerly of Realtime Worlds, had joined Cloudgine, a software company that is developing technology allowing game developers to take advantage of cloud computing features. Cloudgine was revealed to be developing the game’s engine, while the aforementioned Reagent Games developing the rest with the aid of Snake Pass developer Sumo Digital.

The big pitch of Crackdown 3, is that via cloud computing — when playing online — the game’s environment is fully destructible. Meanwhile, when playing the campaign there is said to be a limited degree of destruction. The game notably continues the series after seven years, when Crackdown 2 hit in 2010. It supposedly is set in the future of the first game, but represents an alternate timeline from what Crackdown 2 provided.

Crackdown 3 isn't my sort of game to play or even buy. The trailer looks good though. It has a good release date so that's on a plus side. I don't think I've ever played that game even once? Got me thinking now...

Kinda wished they showed off more destruction in the new trailer but hopefully we get some more in the future as I'm sure that'd be a huge selling point to a lot of gamers.

Crackdown 3 didn't look bad but I was more interested in Anthem or Metro Exodus.

I've always enjoyed Crack Down, I remember playing it years ago and all I ever did was mess around, it's the type of game that you can do whatever you want, I love it and can't wait for Crack Down 3.

I can't wait to get this. I always heard about the first two but never played them.

The Crackdown games aren't really something you play for the story, it is more of a game you play just do do whatever you want and lay waste to everything in your path. It has a good release date as it means the game will most likely appear in the Xbox Marketplace Christmas/New Year sales as in my opinion, whilst the games are fun, they aren't really worth full price. The trailer is comical and grabs your attention, and Terry Crewes is always amusing.

Meh, looks alright. May or may not buy it but I guess we'll see when it comes closer to release.
