Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Standalone Details

3.8
If you’ve wanted to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered without having to purchase Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare as well then you might be in luck. Today Amazon Japan put up a listing on their website for the remaster of the hit 2007 first-person shooter, adding more fuel to the rumor that the game will be released as a standalone title.

According to the link, the game is scheduled to be released on June 20th, 2017. Earlier this month, Gamefly listed the title on its website, with the same release date for the PlayStation 4 version. Interestingly, a separate listing on the rental website also claimed that the Xbox One version would be released a full month after the PS4 version, on July 20th, 2017. These two links have since been removed.

Currently, the only way to purchase and play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is by purchasing either the Digital Deluxe, Legacy, Legacy Pro, or Legacy and Destiny Bundle editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Those versions cost $99.99, $79.99, $119.99, and $129.99 respectively.

As of the time of this writing, Activision has not announced whether or not these rumors are true. If they are, it will most likely be announced soon.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered includes the original campaign and multiplayer modes from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, completely upgraded for current generation hardware, with a few extras included. For instance, in what was considered an incredibly controversial move, Activision has included Supply Drops in the title, which are essentially loot boxes that will give the player a variety of random, micro-DLC. These Supply Drops can be purchased with either Depot Credits, which can be earned in-game, or with COD Points, which can be purchased using real-life money.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare were both released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 4th, 2016.

Im definitely gonna pick up the stand alone.

I remember when I said I'll just wait for MWR to be a stand alone when this was the first introduced. I knew 100% that they would do it, but it's been like 6 months since the game originally games out. I think they did this too late.

Pretty pointless as everyone has ovs already bought the combo game anyway lol

Wouldn't buy it now as a standalone with all this p2w bs.

nastyninja too late now like wtf, already made us pay 80$ just for this game.....

If you actually paid that just to yet mwr you're just the sucker Activision was hoping to take money from. It was obvious they would have done a stand alone eventually

I am glad they did not do this from the start. If I could go back, I would just get IW and save 50$. Did not like the remaster like I thought, a little too old style for me. Now get us MW2 please.

They should of just done this from the start but instead they made us buy that Infinite Warfare BS if we wanted MWR, It's a shame MWR went to shit otherwise I would still have fun playing that game.

This was always gonna happen. It'll probably be released at full price as well loool.

I think this game woulda been way more popular if it wasn't locked behind another game, unfortunate to see them go that way in the beginning, would've still bought it but not anymore.

I doubt it will be coming out soon, I expect it to be stand alone by the time the next Cod is out.
