Today developer Iron Galaxy Studios and publisher Microsoft Studios announced that their hit fighting game Killer Instinct will see the return of a classic character very soon.

The character known as Eagle, will be released in June of 2017.

You can check out a very short teaser at the end of this article. It lasts only seventeen seconds, and shows the classic character in the Devil’s Landing stage of the game.

Eagle will be the 29th character in the fighting game, and was first introduced back in the original title, also called Killer Instinct.

As of the time of this writing, there is no exact release date for the DLC, however the Community Manager for the title at Microsoft Studios, Rukari Austin, confirmed that the character would not be released until after E3 2017. For those who don’t know, the Entertainment Electronics Expo will be occurring from June 11th, 2017 through June 15th, 2017.

Killer Instinct is a reboot of the fighting series that began in 1994. The game was announced by Microsoft back in 2013, with it being developed by Double Helix Games, however the studio was purchased by Amazon soon after, and Microsoft announced that developer Iron Galaxy Studios would be taking over development for all post-release content.

Killer Instinct was released on November 22nd, 2013 on Xbox One, with a Windows 10 version launched afterwards.
