Far Cry 5 Trailer Revealed; February 2018 Release Date Announced

4.7
Today Ubisoft fully revealed Far Cry 5, the new chapter of the Far Cry series taking a rather powerful turn in a new direction.

Alongside with the announcement, we get the first trailer and screenshots.

We are able to a look at the setting in Montana, a face of America that is often familiar but it’s at times overlooked.

Of course, it has been given the crazy and surreal twist that has been consistent in the latest chapters of the Far Cry series.

There are plenty familiar elements, like lots of vehicles to drive, crazed wackos oppressing innocent citizen, preaching, gunfights and strife. Yet, there are also new touches, like the ability to fly planes.

Considering just how great the open worlds settings of the Far Cry series have always been, this is certainly a welcome addition. Another exciting perk, is the ability to play the game entirely in co-op with a friend.

The player steps into the brand new boots of a junior deputy of a fictional location named Hope County. As they arrive, a coup by the fanatical doomsday cult “The Project at Eden’s Gate” enters the final stage, as the cultists take over the county.

Cut out from the rest of the world, the player joins forces with the oppressed inhabitants of Hope Country to form the Resistance fighting all over the place to cut the tendrils of the cult.

Gathering and survival elements return, prompting the player to explore diverse environments like farmland, forests, mountains and rivers. Ubisoft also promises a variety of vehicles like iconic American muscle cars, big rigs, ATVs and boats, on top of the aircraft mentioned above, which will engage in aerial dogfights across Big Sky Country.

Players will be able to hire mercenaries, and even recruit specialized combat animals like bears and cougars.

Last, but not lest, the map editor will make a comeback, giving everyone the opportunity to create additional playgrounds. It will include brand new features that will be revealed at a later time.

Ubisoft Montréal reprised its role at the head of development, with help from Ubisoft Toronto, Kiev, Shanghai and Reflections.

The game will release on February 27th, 2018, for PS4, Xbox One and PC, with support for PS4 and Microsoft’s new console code named Project Scorpio. PS4 users will get additional content with the purchase of the game, while players on Xbox and PC systems will have the same content available through the Ubisoft Club.
