Destiny 2 Runs at 30 FPS on Consoles

4.5
Bungie and Activision have revealed a mountain of Destiny 2 news today, with one of the most exciting announcements being that the upcoming PC edition of the game will include both 4K resolution support and an uncapped framerate. While console gamers probably didn’t have limitless frame rates on their expectation list, many may have been hoping for a smooth 60 FPS experience. Unfortunately, popular Destiny podcaster Teftiny 2 has just confirmed that Destiny 2 will be locked to 30 frames per second on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The reaction to the news has been a solid split between complete indifference and utter outrage, with many gamers having expected Bungie to improve upon the original title’s 30 frames per second limitation. Those with higher-end consoles won’t be able to break the barrier either, as Bungie confirmed that running the PS4 Pro in frame rate mode won’t help surpass the in-game lock. It’s currently unclear whether the PS4 Pro or the Xbox Scorpio will be able to support 4K resolution for the title.

Really disappointing from such a big game and respected company. At least PC is uncapped. Gonna play PC and console now.

Only 30FPS that's not what I was hoping for.

Might have to switch over to the PCMR.

Well console players are pretty used to degraded quality so this is normal for them lol
