Xbox Scorpio Development Kit Can Display Different Fonts and Videos

4.7
It has been talked about a lot recently: the development kit version of Microsoft’s upcoming console code named Project Scorpio is able to display technical information that aims to assist developers. We’ve seen the frame rate counter, but it turns out that the screen is able to do a lot more than that.

Windows Central’s Jez Corden shared a video on Twitter of the front display in action. He describes it as being “fully programmable,” and can be seen cycling through the Developer kit’s front controls.

While we still don’t know what the consumer version of Scorpio will look like, how much it will cost or even what it’ll be called, hopefully it includes dolphins. The kit shown in the video includes the options to display different fonts, videos, and yes, it’s able to display dolphins.

While technical information regarding hardware specs was released earlier this year, we will have more information for you as Microsoft will show off Scorpio at E3 next month.

Dusknoir Is the Dev kit available for purchase by anyone? How much is it? And will it so basic functions of the regular console too or is it just Dev mode.

More than likely the dev kit will be available by contacting microsoft if you work for a game company. I highly doubt a dev kit would be available to the public just like any other console but who knows.

With the dev kit been able to show all sorts like different fonts could mean it might be on the commercial console since I cant see a dev needing to see some text in Times new roman rather than Comic sans

Agreed,
Another thing to consider would be cost; I'm sure that it would cost more to purchase this version. I don't see why a generic consumer would need to own something like this unless they were looking to actually develop.

The 360 kits were otp, i don't see why this one wouldn't be. The specs are a bit better, look back in aprils news section it is slightly higher in some cases.

It'd be so cool to have a front screen display on the final product.

That dolphin theme was awesome to watch,I bet the cost of one of these bad boys is a pretty penny.

I'm going to try to get my hands on one of these, in a backdoor fashion.

This is cool and I hope the public can get some on our hands because as said below me why would this appeal to a game dev?
