Star Wars Battlefront II Is Likely Getting PlayStation VR Content

4.1
Star Wars and virtual reality are a match made in sci-fi heaven. I mean, if you could explore a virtual version of any fictional universe, wouldn’t a certain galaxy far, far away be at the top of your list? Well, it seems like Star Wars Battlefront II is gearing up to deliver another memorable VR experience.

Eagle-eyed NeoGAF poster Bombshell recently noticed something interesting in the Danish version of the official PlayStation newsletter. Apparently, it labels Star Wars Battlefront II as being “PlayStation VR Compatible.” Other posters from around Europe have confirmed the listing.

Neither EA or Sony have officially announced Star Wars Battlefront II PSVR content, but it would not be at all surprising if it was in the works. In 2016 Star Wars Battlefront got Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission in, which let you take part in a dogfight ripped from the hit movie. Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission was developed by Criterion Games, who also happen to be working on Star Wars Battlefront II. In fact, Criterion CTO Alex Mole recently hinted pretty strongly that the studio was working on more Star Wars VR content…

If Star Wars Battlefront II gets more PSVR content, and it certainly seems like it is, could it be based on Star Wars: The Last Jedi? The last Battlefront VR mission was that game’s only significant Star Wars: The Force Awakens-related content. Most of Star Wars Battlefront II happens between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, but a VR peek at The Last Jedi would make a lot of sense.

Glad they're trying to push it. But VR as of now isn't anything spectacular. I can't see much of the game being ready for VR. It's just gonna be some addon to make people spend more money.

VR for Star Wars sounds super sick but I'll be getting this game for my Xbox at launch.

I can't wait to give this game a try and hopefully the campaign is worth the buy.
