It’s seemingly evident that Activision knows it missed out on a big opportunity when it came to bringing Destiny to PC. It did manage to reach a mostly satisfied crowd on the console front, but imagine just how much bigger the game would’ve been had it found an audience over on Steam.

It’s making up for lost time, though, as it previously announced that the sequel, Destiny 2, wouldn’t just come out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but also PC, giving desktop and laptop players the chance to join in the fun. And it sounds like Bungie will be trying to make up for that previous lapse with some “meaningful features,” which have yet to be revealed.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg noted these “features” during a recent earnings conference call, stating that they “are bespoke for the PC community.” He didn’t go into detail about what’s coming yet, but apparently the live gameplay reveal, which is coming on May 18th, will provide a little more background.


With respect to PC, we’re committed to deliver meaningful features that are bespoke for the PC community, and I’m really excited about what we have to show for them, but I’m gonna leave the details of those for our gameplay premiere event, which is happening on May 18th, and we’ll have exciting announcements on the game at that time as well,” he noted.

More than likely, this reveal will showcase just when we can expect the beta for the game, which is expected to happen sometime this summer before the game’s early September release. We’re also likely to hear more about the game’s social features, as well as the potential return of the Tower and more. No doubt these will be huge draws for fans of the first game, who are still gathering in parties to this day, going on raids and picking up a whole lot of loot as a result.
