A Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer is shooting in Montana

4.6
A film crew has been spotted working on what’s likely an upcoming trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2.

The Great Falls Tribune, a local outlet, spotted the film crew working in the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana earlier this week, and interviewed some of the workers. While the local interest piece focused on the film crews’ efforts to help fix up the local Mni-Sda (Still Water) Presbyterian Church, the paper also asked the producer a few questions—and everything from the location to the costumes to the data given points to Red Dead Redemption 2.

“This is a sequel to an existing global franchise,” Producer Jeff Guillot said. Though he couldn’t give the name of the game, he added that it takes place in an imaginary location, one seemingly inspired by the local scenery—another point that lines up.

Fan site RDR2.com added that two actors were spotted decked out in Wild West–themed attire for a fight scene filmed near the church.

Most interestingly of all, Giullot dropped a release date for the project: September. It isn’t clear whether September is the target for the game or the target for the trailer, but the actual date can’t be too far off for either—Rockstar Games has said that Red Dead Redemption 2 will release in the fall of 2017.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and now we have a live action trailer to look forward to. Keep an eye out for a glimpse of Montana within the next four or five months.

Live action trailers don't do anything for me with games. Why not just show off more of the game? That would build more hype over a live action trailer, that doesn't really have anything to do with the game.
