Xbox Game Pass Alpha Ending April 28

4.5
Microsoft confirmed today that the Xbox Game Pass Alpha will be ending on April 28. This was divulged through the Xbox Insider app on Xbox One, which left players with the following message:

“Thank you for participating in the Xbox Game Pass Alpha Preview…Your feedback has been invaluable and will make the service better for all gamers….We’re getting close to launch and Xbox Game Pass will be available for all gamers later this Spring.”
The Netflix-style Xbox One games service was unveiled back in February, and will grant players unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and backward compatible Xbox 360 Games for $9.99 per month, even though this alpha only contained around 20 games. The service will include games from some of the industry’s biggest publishers, including 2K, 505 Games, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, SEGA, SNK CORPORATION, THQ Nordic, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios.

The service downloads full games directly onto one’s Xbox One, so people don’t have to worry about streaming, bandwidth or connectivity issues; one can also have access to it offline for 30 days. That being said, if you stop paying for the pass and lose access to it, you will also lose access to those games, though your progress and achievements will remain tied to your account. Fortunately, people who hold a subscription to the pass can purchase the full games at a 20% discount and their add-ons at a 10% discount to keep it permanently.

wow 20% discounts are going to be sweet. this is like ps+ on roids.

The new system does not sound worth it at all tbh. That's an extra $10 on top of bills you already have for games you may not even play at all.

It would be nice to participate in this.
