The Switch is Nintendo’s fastest-selling console in the US

4.4
According to the NPD Group, Nintendo came out on top during March. The Nintendo Switch outsold both PS4, and Xbox One.

The console sold 906,000 units in the US during March, breaking the streak PS4 had since October. This was in large part due to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, itself becoming Nintendo’s fastest-selling launch title, and fastest-selling game in the series.

Beyond that, PS4 sold more than Xbox One during the same month.

Breath of the Wild shifted 1.3 million units, 925,000 of which were on the Switch, and 460,000 on the Wii U. This is an impressive attach rate, over 100% in fact. That said, it’s likely this way because a portion of players bought the game before they could get a Switch.

The Switch was hard to find at retail during the first two weeks, and remains that way today, so it’s understandable why more people own the Switch version than the console they’ll use to play it on.

The full NPD report will be published soon, including a list of the best-selling games. It’ll be interesting to see how high Breath of the Wild will chart on that list.

This looks to be the best handheld to be honest, can't wait to finally pick one up

Dam that's crazy, maybe Nintendo can catch up in sales?

That sound's crazy but in the long run the switch is already dying out, you have to have more than one game to make ur console continue to sell.

I'm not surprised, Switch was super hyped up and the Zelda game looks sick.

Good for them but I still won't be purchasing one

Decy Most likely why they stopped the production on the NES Classic.

They probably want to focus more on their main console, and the NES Classic was hacked to a point where almost every single NES game could be loaded onto it. So why not stop production on a console that has a serious flaw on their end, and increase production of their main console.
