Rocket League Sold Over 1 Million Physical Copies

4.5
Psyonix’s hit multiplayer game Rocket League has sold more than 1 Million physical copies.

Rocket League hit store shelves last July, about a year after the game originally released on PS4 and on PC. Since then, the game also made its way to Xbox One, which also received a physical release. The physical release of the title was handled by 505 Games, who have also handled retail versions of games like Stardew Valley and Terraria.

While 1 million copies sold is still a huge milestone for any game, Rocket League has seen even greater success digitally, selling over 9.5m copies through Steam, PSN and Xbox Live since it launched. Psyonix told GamesIndustry.biz that they know many of the people buying the phyiscal copies of Rocket League are new players, as they have tracked new accounts and compared those against both physical and digital sales.

Rocket League is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Psyonix is even considering porting the game to the Nintendo Switch if the demand is there.
